Adding Project Pieces + Instrumentation

What are we playing?

Now that you have built your Project, let's add our information regarding the repertoire and instrumentation required for the Project.

  1. Add your Project Piece(s)

  2. Set up the Instrumentation for the Project Piece by adding Chairs

Did you know?

You don't need to add a Project Piece! Simply skip the step of adding a Project Piece and move directly to adding Chairs! Read more about Projects without a Project Piece.


Adding Project Piece

You can add a Project Piece within a Project by:

  • Selecting the Add Project Pieces text in the left-hand menu checklist

  • Selecting the Add Project Pieces text in the right-hand menu under Project Pieces

  • Selecting the + button next to Project Pieces text in the right hand menu

Once selected, you will see a popup that displays all previously used Project Pieces:

Select the + New Piece button at the bottom to add a New Project Piece.

Provide a name for the Piece (required) and any other information you may want to add about the Piece.

Select Create and Viola! You have now added a Project Piece!

You can continue to add additional Project Pieces by following the same steps.

FYI

When adding multiple Project Pieces, be sure to double check that the appropriate Project Pieces are selected in the Genius View! The Genius View in a Project will reflect what is selected in the right-hand menu. Learn more about Genius View.

Steps to adding a Project Piece:

  1. Enter the Project you want to add a Project Piece for

  2. Enter the Mission Control tab of the Project

  3. Enter Edit Mode

  4. In the right-hand menu, select the + next to the Project Pieces text

  5. In the popup that appears, fill out the appropriate information for the Project Piece

  6. Once finished, select the Create button

  7. Viola! You have now added a Project Piece!


Add Instrumentation

Next step is to set the Instrumentation for your Project Piece.

Did you know?

You can add Instrumentation to multiple Project Pieces at a time! Simply use the Genius View to select your Project Pieces and add add the appropriate amount of Chairs. Rhapsody will add the Chairs to all the Project Pieces! Learn more about Genius View.

  1. Enter the Project you want to add a Project Piece for

  2. Enter the Mission Control tab of the Project

  3. Enter Edit Mode

  4. Select the Project Piece(s) you want to add Instrumentation for

  5. Locate and select the + Chairs button. This button is located underneath the Views and to the left of the right-hand menu.

  6. In the popup that appears, select the appropriate amount of Chairs you need for each instrument

  7. Once finished, select the Add # Chairs button in the bottom right of the popup.

  8. Viola! You have now added Instrumentation to your Project Pieces!

Did you know?

You can easily add additional Chairs to a Section! In Edit mode, scroll to the last Chair in a section. Locate the icon underneath the last Chair of the section - it looks like a Chair with a +. Select the icon and easily add additional Chairs to a Section! Just be sure you're in the right View and have the right Pieces and Work Sessions selected in the right-hand menu! Did you know?

You can set your Roles for each Chair in the Instrumentation popup! As you add Chairs in the Instrumentation popup, Rhapsody will display the Chairs to the right. Simply select the Roles for each Chair and Rhapsody will automatically set the Roles when you add the Chairs to the Project! Read more about Rhapsody Chairs.
