Mission Control

This is the Mission Control View, where you will set up the Majority of your Rhapsody Project in.

Mission control has 4 main sections:

  • Mode: Select between View, Edit, or Notify, depending on your account access levels and what action you want to take.

  • View: Select between Genius, Assignments, Pieces, and Work Sessions View

  • Working Area: The area where Chairs and personnel will appear based on selection in the right-hand menu

  • Right-Hand Menu: Selectable items to display the various Project seating arrangements in the Working Area.

  • Additional Items: Chais memos, Program, Guided Tour, and export downloads

Modes

Each Mode in Mission Control provides different access and actions.

  • View: Users can only view and download export forms in a Project. Edits cannot be made, and musicians cannot be notified when in View Mode.

  • Edit: Users can add information and details about a Project. When Setting up the Call, users will work primarily in Edit Mode. Edits after a call has been sent must be made while in Edit Mode.

  • Notify: Users can send Rhapsody Invites, Assignments, and Availability calls in Notify Mode. Any communication sent through Rhapsody to musicians is done when in Notify Mode.

FYI

If you are unable to perform a certain action in a Rhapsody Project, double check that you are in the right Mode. Modes provide you with the security that only the actions YOU want to take will be made WHEN you decide.

Did you know?

Rhapsody will soon allow multi-user support with access to View, View and Edit, or all Modes! This is great for inviting multiple people in an organization who may not need full account permissions! Read more about upcoming features.

Views

Each View in a Project provides a different display of information.

  • Genius View: Provides an overview of all Chairs in all Work Session across all Project Pieces. It shows the entire Roster for a Project based on selections in the right-hand menu. The Genius View is best used for edits for the entire Project. Read more about Genius View.

  • Assignments View: Provides a summary of each musician's assignment in the Project. This displays what a musicians Roles and Chair number is for each Work Session. Musicians are listed alphabetically, and can be used to send individual Assignment Memos as well as view a popup of their assignment. Read more about Assignments View.

  • Pieces View: Provides a side-by-side view of all Project Pieces. You can make edits to a Project Piece's instrumentation/personnel and view it in comparison to other Project Pieces. When in Edit Mode of the Pieces View, changes made will affect all Work Sessions the Piece(s) appear on. Read more about Pieces View.

  • Work Sessions View: Provides a side-by-side view of all Work Sessions. You can make edits to a Work Session's personnel and view it in comparison to other Project Pieces. This view is particularly helpful for removing musicians who will be absent from 1 or more Work Session in a Project. When in Edit Mode of the Work Sessions View, changes made will ONLY affect the selected Work Sessions. Read more about Work Sessions View.

FYI

When in Notify Mode, you will only be able to use Genius View or Assignments View. You are not able to send a Rhapsody communication for selected Work Sessions or Pieces, so therefore it is blocked from view when in Notify Mode; it's all or nothing!

Work Sessions

Work Sessions are your date and times for things like rehearsals, sound checks, performances, etc. In a Work Session, you can establish what pieces will be played, what location everyone will meet at, notes about the Work Session, and any other information regarding the specific instance you need musicians for.

When adding Work Sessions to a Project, you will see your list of Work Sessions in the right hand menu of the Mission Control tab. Depending on your View, you can interact with the Work Sessions in the right hand menu,

  • Genius View: Toggle Work Sessions on/off to see an overview of the ensemble's for each selection.

  • Assignments View: View a list of all musicians on the Project and a summary of their Role/Chair number for each Work Session they're in

  • Pieces View: Toggle Work Sessions on/off to see which Piece is being played on which Work Session

FYI

When in Work Sessions View, you cannot toggle on/off Work Sessions from the right hand menu. This is because each Work Session is automatically displayed side-by-side in this view.
